Impact Testing Machines

IT - 30
The Pendulum Impact Tester, Model IT-30, is designed for conducting Izod and Charpy tests. The pendulum is mounted on antifriction bearings, with two starting positions: the upper one for Charpy and the lower one for Izod testing. On release, the pendulum swings down to break the specimen, and the energy absorbed is measured as the difference between the height of drop before rupture of the test specimen, read from the maximum pointer position on the dial scale.
IT - ASTM
The impact tester offered with 300 & 400J energy exclusively for Charpy test, confirming to ASTM E-23. This machine is geometrically checked in the works to the more stringent requirements of the American standard. The accuracy is verified by PROOF TEST using standard test specimens supplied by the NIST, USA.
Auto Impact
In the Auto Impact Tester, the pendulum will lift, the specimen will get loaded, and the pendulum will release automatically. Once the specimen breaks, the result will display on the digital panel, and auto brakes will apply immediately. The pendulum, mounted on antifriction bearings, has two starting positions for Charpy and Izod testing. On auto release, the pendulum swings down to break the specimen, and the energy is measured as the difference between the height of drop before rupture and the height of rising after rupture, displayed on a digital panel in Jules.
Auto Impact - ASTM
FIE's Charpy pendulum impact testing machine, model: Auto Impact - ASTM, serves for conducting Charpy impact testing according to ASTM E-23 standard to determine the behavior of metallic and non-metallic materials under impact stresses. It is a fully automatic machine, easy to operate, enclosed for safety with door interlocks, and equipped with high-resolution encoder for precise energy readings. GUI features include touch-screen HMI, USB output for data logging, thermal printer output, and manual operation via touch-screen. Calibration features are also available.

Technical Description - Motorized Broaching Machine
Our motorized broaching machine is a self-contained floor-mounted unit, specially designed for cutting Charpy and Izod 'V' and 'U' notches in pre-machined standard 10mm square specimens.
Method of Operation
The machine is simple to operate and of robust construction, with a large front door to provide access for routine maintenance. The design of the machine provides a comfortable working height.
The cutting operation is achieved by drawing a specially designed multi-toothed broach across the specimen. The broach is drawn into the machine by precision rack and pinion type arrangements to ensure the broach cuts perpendicular to the specimen clamp. Limit switches are fitted for end-of-stroke travel.
Once the notch depth has been set and the specimen clamped in position, the machine operation is activated via lower and raise push-buttons. An additional stop button is fitted for emergency use.
The machine operation is controlled by the lower and raise pushbuttons, which forward and reverse the machine motor, resulting in the broach cutting and return strokes being at a fixed speed. The motor has thermal overload protection to protect the drive mechanism.
A hand-operated clamp is mounted on the machine top plate at a comfortable working height and ensures that the specimen is held accurately and securely in position. It is fitted with adjusting screws and an end stop to ensure correct specimen positioning.
A micro-adjustor provides manual adjustment for broach depth of cut and hence the final notch depth. Once set, the adjusting screws provide repeatability for the next specimen.
